To manage the complex relations between drawings, 3D-models and other product and article information you need a competent system. Advantum is a top level product data management system that will ensure that both the development process and the communication between development and production and possibly also suppliers will flow smoothly and without friction. Advantum is still being developed in close collaboration to leading Swedish engineering industries and is the result of 20 years of experience in this environment. The advantum PDM system is a proven and successful solution within this field.  Engineers are allowed to work more effectively and access drawings and models directly in advantum using CAD integrations.

 

The in-built viewer gives all users the ability to look at and review CAD files even if they do not have the application installed on their computer. The most common CAD applications are integrated with advantum like AutoCAD, Inventor and SolidWorks. The integrations manage among other things external references, attributes in drawing headers, model structures and configurations.

 

The workflow functionality in advantum enables the ability to create processes that manage quality improvement and automate many previously manual time consuming tasks. Some examples of these would be review and approval procedure and ensuring that the correct user always can access the correct data at the right time.

 

The open API will also enable the system to communicate with other business systems to reuse already existing data and eradicate multiple registrations of data. The traceability is 100% and includes compliance to Medical Device Directive 13485. This means that all CAD drawings is stored so that the users can find exactly how the product looked like 1,10, 50 years ago and the related documents to the product. This is quite important if you need a spare part to a pacemaker that was installed 15 years ago.
